Carwashes
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. The way to have a high school or junior high school car wash is not to wash and dry the cars, but instead to find a commercial, drive-through car wash at a local gas station. Contract with the owner to let you use his car wash that day, give him a percentage up to a reasonable number of usual drive-throughs. Cut the owner in to cover his nut for the day, and the rest is gravy. | Attach:drivethrough.jpg |

The nice thing about this is that the kids still get the bonding experience of snapping towels at each other, getting sunburned, and perhaps even pouring buckets of water over each other's heads, but the fact remains that you'd be putting more cars through the machine than by hand, you'd make more money on the increased number of drive throughs, you'd get more drive-throughs because they'd be confident that they'd |
be getting a good car wash (sorry!) and the parents only need to worry about being sure that there are dry towels to dry the cars after they come through the drive-through. No more worry about soap and water. You're only getting the cars in, and then drying them. The kid's posters on the streets can even boast about using a commercial car wash. Now, that'll get some attention!
The owner's going to want you there, because in the long run, he'll or she'll have more repeat customers.
