Data

• Import the world meeting list provided into the current database.
• Telephone number fields need to be unformatted, 20 characters long
• Zip Code must allow for up to 9 characters, numbers and characters.
• Language must allow for entry of more than one language, approx 20 characters min. (Details on how this needs to be done needs to be discussed before coding.)
• Need to change US, USA or however the Country field is now populated to United States.

Search

• Add country and make it required field.(with default to United States, since we still have the most meetings)
• Rename State to State/Province
• Make State/Province optional
• Move the alternative meetings from the State field to the Country field (but see below...)
• Meeting display to have a hotlink to populate the Meeting Update Form to simplify meeting change submissions.
• Meeting display to have emails for meeting contact, with mailto: hotlinks.
• Display different levels of information for
  • surfers, (from the web site)
  • full read access for Outreach, (from a protected area)
  • and full read/write access for FS. (as Barb now does)

Zip Code Search,

• Add note that zip code search is only for US.

2nd, non-English language

• Provide extra fields for each character field to input 2nd language text. Please confirm the physical layout before coding begins.
• Provide only one alternative language per meeting. (e.g., English and 2nd language, regardless of the language.)
• Search results are 2-column:
  • English | 2nd language, or
  • English | Blank

2nd language searches

• Search needs to be set up to search 2nd language fields and return results, regardless of where the hit is found.
• Creat a Spanish search. Use the same English search form, but reword it in Spanish and add to the Spanish pages. Spanish Outreach could provide the translation.

Is this type of setup effective? The problem is that Alternative is not a state or a country, so there may need to be a more effective way of displaying Alternative meetings on the search page so everyone knows they're there for their use.
